Harold and his sister, Georgiana, were orphaned and placed in the Norwalk Childrens Home. 1900 census shows them living with the Middlebrooks family in Westport; 1910 census shows Harold living with Sanford family in Redding Ridge Township on Rock House Rd. Never able to get a birth certificate in Danbury, no record of his birth.
